History of the Faculty
The faculty was established on February 12, 2010, and at the time of its creation was called “Faculty of Engineering and Energy”, it included four departments: Department of Electricity Supply and Automation; Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Technology and Design of Light Industry Products; Department of Physics and General Technical Sciences. From 2010 to 2012 the dean of the faculty was Anvar Abdulloevich Khodzhiev. In 2012-2013 this task was performed by Ashurov Gairat Ashurovich, from 2013 to 2015 Vakhobov Amirtimir Mannonovich, and from 2015 to 2021 the faculty was headed by Odilhodzha Mahmudkhodzhaevich Soliev, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics. During the period of Soliev O.M.’s activity, the name of the faculty was changed to “Faculty of Informatics and Power Engineering”.
In connection with this, there were some changes in the departments as well. Two departments were joined to the existing departments of the faculty: the Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of Technology and Design of Light Industry Products, and two more departments were created: the Department of Programming and Information Systems, the Department of Engineering Economics and Management. The name of the chair “Physics and General Technical Sciences” was changed to “Physics and Chemistry”, and in 2022 this department was renamed to “Department of Higher Mathematics and Physics”.
Since 2022, Akramova Z.B. has held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Power Engineering. There are 4 departments at the faculty: Programming and Information Systems, Power Supply and Automation, Engineering Economics and Management, Higher Mathematics and Physics.
